About Us

Hidden Jewels Unleashed is a Bay Area multidisciplinary creative arts and music business founded by Ms. Dorothy, rooted in storytelling, culture, community, and the transformative power of artistic expression.

What began as a passion for creating meaningful theatrical experiences has grown into a multidisciplinary creative practice spanning music, theater, film, poetry, storytelling, youth arts, and community events.

Our journey began with Black History Month theatrical productions for schools throughout the Bay Area, creating opportunities for young people and communities to experience history through performance, storytelling, and creative expression. As our work evolved, so did our reach; expanding into theatrical productions, film, youth arts programming, original music, and community-centered events.

Through each chapter, one thing has remained constant: we use creativity to tell stories, build confidence, connect generations, and create spaces where people can see themselves reflected in the work.

 

Our Creative Practice

Today, Hidden Jewels Unleashed is building on this foundation by expanding into a music-centered creative business focused on original songwriting, recording, music publishing, live performance, merchandise, and touring.

Our emerging music work connects the creative process from song development and recording to publishing, live performance, and audience engagement, while creating sustainable pathways for artists and collaborators.

As we expand to develop a sustainable music business, beginning with a collaborative album and expanding into music publishing, merchandise, live performance, and touring, the expansion allows us to take the stories and artistic expression that have always been at the heart of Hidden Jewels Unleashed and develop them into original music and experiences that can reach audiences beyond the Bay Area.

 

Youth & Community Impact

Operating under fiscal sponsorship with 501(c)(3) nonprofit status, our community work is rooted in empowerment, creative access, and connection. We believe young people deserve opportunities to explore their voices, develop their talents, and experience the confidence that comes from being seen, heard, and supported.

Our flagship initiative, the I AM Creative Arts Youth Empowerment Program, provides accessible creative arts experiences for youth in downtown Hayward. Through theater, music, storytelling, and other forms of artistic expression, participants are encouraged to develop self-awareness, healthy self-esteem, confidence, and creative voice.

Youth have opportunities to move beyond the classroom and into the spotlight through live productions, interactive showcases, creative workshops, and hands-on community events that encourage family participation and strengthen community connection.

 

Creating Access. Building Possibility.

In addition to our youth programming, Hidden Jewels Unleashed produces free community events and creative arts experiences designed to make the arts accessible regardless of financial barriers.

From a young person discovering their voice onstage to an artist developing an original song, our work creates opportunities for people to create, collaborate, perform, and connect.

As we move forward, Hidden Jewels Unleashed is bringing together the worlds that have always shaped our work: music, theater, film, poetry, storytelling, youth development, and community engagement, while building a sustainable creative business with a growing music-centered focus.

Our history is rooted in the power of story. Our future is about giving those stories a bigger stage.
